SOIL was an exhibition that explored the overlooked narratives of Black farmers in the Mississippi Delta, honoring their contributions, and deep connection to the land. The project, led by artist Justin Hardiman and curated by Adrienne Domnick, utilized photography to capture the complexities of identity, heritage, and daily life within these farming communities.
As the Creative Producer and Community Liaison, I played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life. I collaborated closely with the artist and curator to shape the exhibition's themes and storytelling, facilitated engagement with local farmers to ensure their voices informed the project, and managed the production logistics that delivered the an exhibition, programming, digital storytelling and community collaboration. From organizing the opening reception to fostering meaningful dialogue between the artwork and its audience, my contributions helped make SOIL a powerful tribute to the legacy of Black land stewardship and cultural perseverance.
